Canadian Foodgrain Bank

Ada Chukwudozie was placed with the Canadian Foodgrains Bank, a not-for-profit organization that works with locally based organizations in developing countries to meet emergency food needs, achieve long-term solutions to hunger and work to foster informed action by Canadians and governments to support the food security goals. Over the summer Ada worked on their HERD and COVID-19 Livelihoods programs, doing background research to inform baseline reporting around the COVID-19 situations and impact on livelihood and food security in the contexts of those programs, as well as providing some synthesis documents on elements of the project proposals.

The most valuable part of this experience for me was getting to work on programming in the context of my home countries and seeing first-hand the importance culturally appropriate programming and centering the voices of program beneficiaries in projects that directly impact them."
