History of Campus Giving

Faculty, staff, retirees and other members of our campus community have long been among the most committed financial supporters of our students and University.

2005

The Foundation launched its first internal fundraising campaign, The University of Winnipeg Internal Family Campaign. In a profound show of generosity, more than 550 campus donors together gave $2.4 million, far surpassing the goal of $1 million!

In addition to providing essential resources for student awards and many other areas of need on campus, the generosity of our University family resonated with the broader community, and so helped to garner support from alumni, donors, and friends of the University. This was crucial to the realization of the tremendous growth and evolution of our campus that followed.

2008

The market downturn jeopardized the Foundation’s capacity to fund student awards. In the face of this financial challenge, more than 400 faculty, staff, retirees, and members of senior administration united in support of UWinnipeg students, together contributing over $250,000 as part of the Campaign to Raise Current Funds!

Many campus volunteers also gave generously of their time and energy to facilitate customized campaigns within The University of Winnipeg Faculty Association, The University of Winnipeg Retirees Association, and among Senior Administration and Staff.

Our campus community had once again shown a commitment to student success and well-being that extended far beyond the classroom walls.

2013

On December 1, 2012, the Foundation launched the 2013 Campus Campaign, marking a new chapter in UWinnipeg’s rich history of campus generosity.

The 2013 Campaign was a great success: more than 300 faculty, staff, retirees, and close friends of the University participated, with $709,990 counted towards the Campaign!

2014

The University of Winnipeg celebrated another successful year of the Campus Campaign: more than 325 campus donors participated in the 2014 Campus Campaign, which ended on December 31, 2014, raising more than $732,000, an increase of 3.1% over the 2013 Campaign.
