Frequently Asked Questions-Fall & Winter

End of Fall Term 2022/Start of Winter Term 2023

1. What do I do if I have two exams at the same time?

Contact your professor(s) and arrange an alternate date/time for one of the exams. See this webpage for the procedure: Exam Conflicts

2. How do I find out my grade(s) for my Fall Term course(s)?

Official grades are posted to WebAdvisor in the Grades module.  There is an Unofficial Transcript link in the Academics Menu for a PDF version. Some professors post unofficial/tentative grades on Nexus or by their office. This decision is at the professor’s discretion.

3. When will grades for Fall Term be posted on WebAdvisor?

Final grades will be posted on WebAdvisor on about January 25, 2023.

4. I need to get a certain grade in my Fall Term course to keep my registration in my Winter Term course. It will be too late to get my money back for my Winter Term course if I only find out my official Fall Term grades in late January. What do I do?

Talk to your professor to find out how you did in the Fall Term course/what your unofficial grade is so that you are able to alter your course load as necessary before or during the Add/Drop Period (January 4-17, 2023).

5. I’m waitlisted for a Winter Term course. How do I know whether I got into the course?

When a spot becomes available in a course, the first person on the waitlist is sent an email to their UWinnipeg Webmail account notifying them that they have three days to claim the reserved seat by registering in the course. The automated waitlist process for Winter Term will run for the last time on January 17, 2023.
NOTE: Students receiving permission on January 16 and 17 will only have until the end of day on January 17 to register – not three days – as January 17 is the last day to register for a Winter Term 2023 course.

6. I’m trying to decide whether to take a Winter Term course or to wait until Spring Term to take it. When will the Spring Term timetable be available?

A tentative Spring Term timetable [PDF] has been posted online. See Timetable.

7. When are Winter Term tuition fees due?

Fees are due January 20, 2023.

NOTE:  The fee deadline is not the same as the Add/Drop Period or refund deadline. The Winter Term (U2022W) Add/Drop Period is January 4-17, 2023. The last day to drop a regularly-scheduled U2022W course and not be charged the fees is January 17, 2023. Students who drop a U2022W course January 18-20 and onwards are still responsible for paying all of the course fees.

To pay your tuition fees, use the bill payment feature on your financial institution’s website.

Set up The University of Winnipeg - Tuition as a bill payee using your student number as the account number.

Fees can be paid from international banks using flywire.com.

See this link for important dates and all your payment options: Fee Payment Information

8. When is the last day to drop a Fall/Winter Term (September - April) course?

The last day to drop a U2022W course is February 14, 2023. No refund is applicable. See this link for more information: Withdrawal Schedules

9. Will there be a UWSA U-Pass for Winter Term 2023?

Yes. Fees for the Winter Term U-Pass are currently being added to students' accounts.  The U-Pass is $212 from January 1 to April 30. Please see the UWSA website for details:  U-Pass - The UWSA

10. I’m going to complete the last courses that I need for my degree in Winter Term. When can I graduate?

Applications for June graduation are now open for students who will complete all of their requirements by the end of April. The deadline to apply is February 1, 2023. Students apply to graduate using the Graduation module in WebAdvisor.

Students will be contacted if there are any problems with their application. If there are not any problems, then more information about convocation, including how to order regalia, will be emailed in late April. In the meantime, students can check the Graduation website  and Convocation website for more information.

Graduation photos can usually be arranged through Prestige Portraits. Sittings would be booked at Life Touch Winnipeg sales.
