The world is changing rapidly — with environmental and social challenges growing in both number and magnitude. From the implications of COVID-19 to managing the social and ecological impacts of energy production, there is an urgency to address human impact on the environment. Creative, collaborative thinkers are needed to solve existing local, regional, and global problems.

Our understanding and ability to successfully navigate environmental and social change — as individuals, communities, businesses, and governments — is critical for our collective wellbeing.

In the two-year Environmental & Social Change program, students focus on human roles in the environment by engaging in cutting-edge research at the intersection of natural and social sciences. This unique interdisciplinary training experience fosters the knowledge, skills, and professional abilities to address complex human environmental issues.
