There are local and international practicum placement choices that students make for their convenience when completing practicum course. While local practicum placements enable students with an opportunity to broaden their knowledge and develop networks with local human rights organizations, international practicum placements provide students with an opportunity to broaden and deepen their human rights learning in global and international contexts.

Mackenzie Harcus, 4th year Human Rights student, decided to complete her practicum placement internationally. She went for a memorable trip to Ghana during the Fall 2019, completing extensive work in junior high schools in Ghana. Mackenzie conducted workshops and trained youth on personal hygiene during menstruation. This is an important topic for youth because good practices in personal hygiene during menstruation directly relates to good health and healthy lifestyle.

Join in Mackenzie's international practicum presentation while enjoying light snacks provided for free!
