Are you interested in issues affecting our environment?

Environmental Studies and Sciences combines many different perspectives to understand the changes in our environment, while acknowledging human impacts and providing a framework to develop solutions for environmental programs.

You can choose your course of study from six different subject areas including Chemistry, Forest Ecology, Forest Policy and Management, Global Environmental Systems, Issues in Sustainability, and Urban Environments.

Degrees and Streams

The department offers various degree options. BA students can take either the Sustainable Environmental Resource Systems stream or the Sustainable Urban Environments stream. Three-year, four-year, and honours degrees are offered.

Where can an Environmental Studies and Sciences degree take me?

There are a variety of careers open to students with degrees in Environmental Studies and Sciences, from ecology, parks management, Geographic Information Systems land evaluation, hazardous waste management, environmental education, impact assessment and policy analysis. Find your future career!
