Volunteer Opportunities

The Alumni Association has volunteer opportunities to suit a wide range of interests and time commitments. By getting involved—a little or a lot—you can make a difference to your University and current students.

Current Volunteer Opportunities:

Alumni Association Council - This Council represents the Alumni Association and meets monthly to make decisions on policy and programming for the association. Each member serves a three-year term. In addition, three alumni representatives are chosen to serve on the Board of Regents and provide a liaison between the University's governing body and alumni. Please contact alumni@uwinnipeg.ca  Council Member Application Form

Homecoming - If you would like to participate as a volunteer at Homecoming, please contact the Alumni Office at alumni@uwinnipeg.ca

Other Volunteer Opportunities at UWinnipeg open to UWinnipeg Alumni (please contact these programs directly):

Wii Chiiwaakanak Learning Centre
The Wii Chiiwaakanak Learning Centre’s primary focus is to offer educational and cultural programming rooted in Indigenous knowledge, in order to develop and strengthen pathways for Indigenous students to University. The endeavors of the centre are in alignment with the University’s strategic direction of Indigenization, that includes and values Indigenous knowledge, culture and perspectives throughout the UWinnipeg. Our programming include: after school science and homework club, women’s self-defense courses, STEAM camps, Science kids on campus (in partnership with inner-city schools), Indigenous language courses and many other cultural workshops. Visit current-programming for more information.
