Sami Education Institute, Finland
Lisa Dixon's field placement was with the Sami Education Institute and Anaraskiela Servi (Sami Language Association). She was immersed in the Language revitalization movement in Inari, Finland. Some of her field placement activities included website development, participation in Inari Sami Language program activities, public speeches on the subject of Indigenous languages, and engaging in community events. This field placement was an immersion in the Sami culture and was an excellent learning opportunity in seeing language and culture as the basis of development.
