Community Learning

The University of Winnipeg is dissolving the line between our campus and our community.

We are located in downtown Winnipeg in one of the most diverse communities in Canada. We believe it is critically important and to reach out and partner with our neighbours so that together, we can create a vibrant, reflective and relevant learning environment.

We work with thousands of children, youth and families in the inner city. We bring elementary school students on-campus, mentor grade school and high school students in our labs, operate a computer-drop in centre and homework club for community members, and offer free public lectures, conferences, and workshops, among other things.

Below you will find links to the many community learning programs and services, such as the Wii Chiiwaakanak Learning Centre, the Innovative Learning Centre, and the Global Welcome Centre. You will also find information about what various departments and faculty members are doing to connect with the community, and links to reports and photos.
