Indigenous STEAM Summer Camp

A summer day camp for children and youth going into grades 1-6 hosted on campus that is designed to give students an opportunity to participate in activities that combine Indigenous knowledge with other departments at the University of Winnipeg such as Chemistry, Physics, Computer Science and Biology.

Indigenous knowledge keepers share historical information and knowledge around traditional medicines, star teachings, water, and Indigenous peoples as scientists, which will then be complemented by hands-on experiments in labs on campus. Activities during the week include math lessons, 3D printing, coding, dissections, Anishinaabe cultural and language learning as well as field trips.

 

Camp dates:

  • STEAM Camp for youth in Grade 1 to 3
  • STEAM Camp for youth in Grade 4 to 6

 

Indigenous STEAM Camp will run from 9:00-4:00 every day with breakfast, lunch and snack provided.
