Degree: Master of Science
Thesis: Characterization of Dissolved Organic Matter in Boreal Forest Riparian Zones
Supervisor: Dr. Nora Casson
Entry: Fall 2025

Research Interests:

My thesis research will involve looking at the processing of dissolved organic matter in boreal forest riparian zones at the Experimental Lakes Area near Kenora, Ontario. I will be sampling soils and analyzing how riparian zones process dissolved organic matter depending on varying site characteristics and shifting precipitation patterns due to climate change.

Biography:

I graduated from the University of Manitoba with a BA in Geography in 2022. After a few years of working in the environmental sector, my strong interest in environmental and climate issues led me to the MESC program. I am extremely grateful for the opportunity to engage in research that supports my passion for addressing the impacts of climate change and looking forward to joining an interdisciplinary community that holds these same interests.
