Biography:
My name is Shanti Subedi. I was born and raised in Nepal, a country known for its diverse landscapes, rich forest ecosystems, and as home to Mount Everest-the world’s highest peak. I completed my undergraduate degree in BSc. Forestry from Agriculture and Forestry University, Nepal. I have also completed internships at the Forest Research and Training Centre in Kathmandu, Nepal, and at the Ramat Negev Training Centre for Advanced Agriculture in Israel. I am currently pursuing a Master of Environment in Environmental and Social Change program at the University of Winnipeg under the supervision of Dr. Ryan Bullock. I am also a member of the DIVERSE Project, a pan-Canadian research initiative that focuses on enhancing forest resilience and adapting forest management practices to global environmental change. I am happy to be a part of the University of Winnipeg and to contribute to forest management and conservation in Canada with the hope of doing similar things in future in Nepal.
