Sunshine House

Sage Broomfield's second field placement was with Sunshine House, a resource space here in Winnipeg focused on harm reduction and social inclusion. Sage's role was to carry out a program evaluation for two of the organization’s five programs. They evaluated the Drop-In and Like That (the 2SLGBTQIA specific drop-in) programs. During the field placement, Sage built on the program evaluation that the MDP evaluation course designed and worked with Sunshine House staff to develop the evaluation further. They carried out interviews with all program staff, developed survey material for participants, and organized and facilitated a townhall conversation for participants to give feedback about the programs. Sage also participated in a range of House activities including medicine picking, beading, medicine pouch making, drag shows, etc.

"My field placement was rewarding and allowed me to learn and collaborate with the Sunshine House community."
