Manitoba's Agriculture and Resource Development

This summer I worked in the Policy branch of Manitoba's Agriculture and Resource Development. During my time I helped prepare policy papers that will inform the next policy framework. My main project involved investigating how to improve the accessibility of the Canadian Agricultural Partnership (CAP) funding application process for Indigenous clients. I also worked on papers relating to the procurement value of diversity and inclusion, and the importance of mental health services for primary producers. My time has taught me a lot about managing expectations in a government setting. I hope that my time has positively contributed to the on going efforts to better align the public's needs and priorities.
