Commonwealth of Dominica: Kalinago Territory & International Organisation on Migration IOM

Racheal Kalaba completed her international placement in the Commonwealth of Dominica working in the Kalinago Territory and with the International Organisation on Migration (IOM).  The main objective was to support the Kalinago in creating a community-led disaster plan. Two organizations Dominica Red Cross and IOM supported her work in disaster management. Racheal was able to work closely with the two institutions and helped establish a Red Cross Branch in the Kalinago territory for continuous community engagement in disaster preparedness and IOM in supporting training on emergency shelters as well as renovating structures identified for emergency shelters.
