Lanka Impact Investing Network (LIIN)

Silvina Antunes's international field placement was a three-month long internship in Colombo, Sri Lanka facilitated through World University Service of Canada (WUSC) where she was placed with a partner organization called Lanka Impact Investing Network (LIIN). Her primary role here was to plan and assist in the facilitation of a conference about impact investing targeted at high level executives, large scale investors and those working in financial institutions. Other duties included assisting social entrepreneurs in areas of their business where they felt they needed it, everything from social media marketing to gaining market access to writing business plans, as well as working to increase partnerships LIIN has with other organizations to offer more diversified and targeted services to the social entrepreneurs.

"I was able to use and build on many skills learned within the MDP program during this placement such as networking, program planning, business planning, respectful relationship building, cross cultural understanding, and many others. It was an informative, exciting and extremely fulfilling three months."
