The Winnipeg Boldness Project

Ari Phanlouvong's domestic field placement with The Winnipeg Boldness Project contributed to her Major Research Project for her second year of the MDP program. Ari participated in data collection, data analysis, and event planning. More specifically, she had a role in the collection of data for the evaluation report being prepared by The Winnipeg Boldness Project. The data collection consisted of conducting interviews with the families who participated in the program. In addition, Ari interviewed Indigenous doulas with a team of researchers in preparation for the Cross Lake doula training program. In regard to the event planning, her role consisted of assisting with the coordination of the Indigenous doula celebration/graduation/feast. Prior to the doula celebration, she created and submitted event planning sheets for the celebration and a birth workers conference that the Manitoba Indigenous Doula Initiative is planning for November 2017.
