Red Indígena de Turismo de México (RITA) is an indigenous tourism umbrella organization based in Xochimilco, on the southern edge of Mexico City. Alejandro Dominguez-Suberbie, Susan Maxson and Ian Toal looked at the issues that RITA was facing in communicating with its widespread members who were often not connected to either good telephone or internet. Projects involved setting up a newsletter, giving a workshop on market development, and working on methods of communication that RITA might use. RITA's concept of “Tourism with Identity” is central to its work.
