Do Development Differently

MDP Program | ERDE Program | Scholarship info

Solving complex, global development issues requires a collaborative approach. The University of Winnipeg offers two graduate programs in development, each of which draws from a different discipline to arrive at the same objective: giving students the right tools to create a sustainable world for everyone, regardless of cultural, environmental or economic status.

Master’s in Development Practice: Indigenous Development

MDP students

Human rights. Climate change. Land and territory. There is no fundamentally important political, social, economic, and cultural issue of our time that does not affect, and that is not affected by, Indigenous Peoples. Guided by an understanding of Indigenous principles, experience, knowledge and rights, the Master’s in Development Practice: Indigenous Development (MDP) uniquely focuses on Indigenous innovations in fostering community and individual well-being.

Master of Arts in Environmental, Resource and Development Economics

ERDE students

What is the economic impact of climate change? Must we sacrifice the environment to develop our economies? How can nations overcome low incomes and poor health? These are some of the important questions investigated in the Master of Arts in Environmental, Resource and Development Economics (ERDE). Students analyze how social, environmental and economic issues interact with one another on local and global levels.
