Victor Yushchenko
Born
On February 23, 1954 in the village of Khoruzhivka, Sumy oblast, into a family of teachers. Father – Andriy Andriyovych Yushchenko (1919-1992), took part in the Second World War; after the war taught English at a local school. Mother – Varvara Tymofiyovna Yushchenko (1918-2005), a Physics and Math teacher.
Marital Status Married, with five children and two grandchildren; sons Andriy and Taras, daughters Vitalina, Sofia and Christina, grandchildren Yarynka and Victor. Wife – Kateryna Mykhailivna Yushchenko.
Education Higher. In 1975 graduated from the Ternopil Finance and Economics Institute. Candidate of Economic Sciences. The topic of the candidate thesis – “Development of Money Demand and Supply in Ukraine”. A member of the National Academy of Economic Sciences and the Academy of Economic Cybernetics. Mrs. Kateryna Yushchenko
Kateryna Yushchenko, wife of the President of Ukraine Victor Yushchenko, is dedicated to representing Ukraine internationally, working in community service, and raising her family. Following the completion of a higher education and successful career as an economist and manager in both the United States and Ukraine, Mrs. Yushchenko is now involved in numerous charitable projects with the Ukraine 3000 International Foundation that she chairs. The key priority of the Foundation is better health for Ukraine’s children.
