The University of Winnipeg is currently conducting searches for the following senior leadership positions.

The University of Winnipeg has begun the search process for its next Vice-President, Research and Innovation.

First of all, I would like to express my sincere thanks and appreciation to Dr. Jino Distasio for the outstanding leadership he has provided in this role since 2013. During his tenure, the University significantly grew its impact and reputation as a centre for research and innovation.

The next leader in this position will play a key role in charting our university’s future. This search is open to internal and external candidates, and we have secured Odgers Berndston to assist us through the process.

Timeline for the search

The University plans to conclude this search and have the new Vice-President, Research and Innovation in place by July 1, 2024.

To ensure we find the right candidate for the University of Winnipeg, we have put in place a consultative process with milestones over the next several months. We have also engaged Dr. Jennie Massey from KBRS as a consultant to support the process. KBRS Academic Executive Search brings one of the largest teams in the country dedicated to the academic sector.

Working with KBRS, we have constructed a timeline that aims to announce the next AVP, Student Engagement by early 2024.
