Zoongizi Ode

As part of her second field placement, Ijeoma Okwor worked with Zoongizi Ode (Strong Hearts)—formerly Fearless R2W—a community-based organization in Winnipeg’s North End that supports youth and families impacted by complex systems. Her contributions included co-authoring two grant applications, drafting the organization’s 2023 Annual Report, and supporting events like the End-of-School BBQ, which celebrates youth achievement and community resilience. She also participated in meetings with the Youth, Caregivers, and Grandparents Councils, gaining insight into community-led programming and advocacy.
