Waapihk Research

Taanshi! Britney Champagne had the opportunity to spend her summer with Waapihk Research. Waapihk is an Indigenous owned and operated company which plays a supporting role in reconciliation by providing data-driven research to answer questions related to Indigenous health and education systems. The company has a very tight-knit and diverse staff who have a wide-range of education backgrounds and expertise. This knowledge translates into the work they produce for their clients. Waapihk is dedicated to proper data management, principles of OCAP, relationship building with their clients.

The word Waapihk comes from Michif language and means “we see” or “vision”. This principle guides the Waapihk team in their work as they ‘see’ their clients and their ‘vision’.
