Immigration Partnership Winnipeg (IPW)

Fiona Slota's placement with Immigration Partnership Winnipeg (IPW) has been an evolving experience through connection between theory and local experience. Before taking on their placement opportunity Fiona took a class in Quantitative Research Method during the winter term. One assignment included creating infographics, working with data and telling stories using data. Fiona is now putting that theory into practice at IPW. Additionally, Fiona is building on Networking and Partnership between organizations. Fiona has observed meetings where IPW and City of Winnipeg have dialogue on current projects they are collaborating on. Relationship building is also a key skill that Fiona has embraced by working with colleagues, additionally with student interns from U of W and U of M within the same space.
