Options Housing

Alice Egbedeyi, a second-year MDP student, completed her field placement at Options Housing in Ottawa. Options Housing, formerly known as Options Bytown, is a nonprofit housing corporation that provides supportive housing to help people get off the streets and offers wraparound support to keep them housed. Alice’s work with Options focused on implementing portions of their Reconciliation Action Plan, which began in 2022. She assisted in event coordination, creating staff training plans, developing a partnership engagement plan, and drafting a grant proposal document.

 “I had not only the experience of applying what I learned in the classroom to support the organization, but I also learned a lot from working with the Options staff and the Ottawa community. It was a wonderful experience.”
