National Collaborating Centre for Infectious Diseases (NCCID)
Stacey Woods, and her placement with the National Collaborating Centre for Infectious Diseases (NCCID) involved exploring TB information campaigns in Canada’s North, where challenges such as infrastructure and resource management impact TB intervention and planning. Through her research, she learned that these campaigns—spanning social media, radio, news, and community programs—are crucial not only for spreading awareness but also for empowering communities and bridging knowledge gaps.
Stacey is grateful for the opportunity to contribute to TB knowledge translation and appreciates the support of her supervisors, Claudyne Chevrier and Margaret Haworth-Brockman, in advancing public health initiatives.
“Participating as a student researcher has allowed me to work in areas such as disease prevention in Canada’s North and knowledge translation.”
