Leading4impact
Eric Lewis completed his second field placement with Leading4impact, formerly known as Health in Common. Leading4impact is a nonprofit consulting firm that works with communities, organizations, and government entities at federal, provincial, and municipal levels. They specialize in strategic planning, data management, program evaluation, and facilitation & engagement services.
During his placement, Eric’s primary responsibility was conducting environmental scans focused on program evaluation, data management, and strategic planning. These scans aimed to uncover insights into the factors contributing to high unemployment rates among Indigenous youth and newcomers in Manitoba. Additionally, they provided valuable information on emerging trends in social work education and practice, particularly the application of artificial intelligence and machine learning. The environmental scan also emphasized the impact of artificial intelligence on social work education and practice in light of Canada’s immigration trends, demographic shifts, international student population, climate change, and environmental sustainability.
“My field placement at Leading4impact was highly rewarding, allowing me to acquire new techniques and approaches in data analysis, program evaluation, and plain language writing.”
