University of Alaska, Fairbanks

Stephen Penner spent his international placement in Alaska, working with the University of Alaska, Fairbanks. His work focused mainly on Qungasvik, a Yup’ik community- built response and a community- delivered suicide and alcohol reduction tool-kit. He was tasked to assist in developing a Yup’ik wellness agency to act in support of the Qungasvik initiative. Stephen also worked on a business plan for a Yup’ik community based commercial enterprise.
