Financial Support

Master of Arts in Indigenous Governance

The Department of Indigenous Studies recommends that graduate students seek external funding. We are able to make internal funds available on a limited basis. The University of Winnipeg Foundation’s generous donors provide several awards that support MA in Indigenous Studies students.  Financial assistance administered by the Awards & Financial Aid Office supports the access and excellence mandate of The University of Winnipeg through a comprehensive program of scholarships, awards, prizes and bursaries.

Awards are given to students based on financial need and academic achievement.

Bursaries are awarded to students who demonstrate financial need.

Scholarships are awarded for academic achievement.

Prizes and Medals are awarded for academic achievement and are normally given at convocation, upon graduation.

Current students are encouraged to visit the Awards and Financial Aid Office to learn more about awards available to them.
