2 CIS National Champions!

The Winnipeg Wesmen Men's Wrestling team won three medals and three individual awards at the CIS Wrestling Championships Feb 27-28 at Brock University in St. Catharines, Ontario. Gold Medal winners and National Champions are Finn Higgins (100 kg) and Aleksandr Sofronov (76 kg).

Kyle Nguyen captured the bronze medal in the 120 kg weight class. Nguyen was also the recipient of the Community Service Award. The award is a combination of academics, athletics and community service. It is the most prestigious award in CIS Wrestling.

Gold Medalist Finn Higgins was also named the CIS Most Outstanding Male Wrestler, while Brock Munro was awarded the H. Pugh Fair Play Award.  Well done, everyone!
