About:

Dr. Simon Liao received a BSc degree from Beijing Normal University in Beijing, China, in 1982. He completed his MSc and PhD in electrical and computer engineering from the University of Manitoba in 1988 and 1993, respectively.

Liao has been with The University of Winnipeg since 1991, and he is currently a professor in the Applied Computer Science Department. His research interests include computer vision, image analysis, pattern recognition, and eHealth.
