Geographies of Asia Study Group sponsored panels

Canada’s relationship with Asia has taken the global stage recently with the arrest last December of a Chinese telecom executive in Vancouver.  The Geographies of Asia Study Group is organizing one or more panels on Asian topics, and is particularly keen on soliciting papers related to social justice, human rights, and reconciliation.  However, we welcome all paper and poster proposals dealing with the countries and regions of Asia and the global Asian diaspora, e.g., Canada.  In particular, we encourage graduate and undergraduate student members of the study group to present and participate in the Geographies of Asia Student Presentation Competition for both papers and posters.

Please submit your proposed title, presentation format (poster or paper), abstract (maximum 200 words), and presenter information to Tom Waldichuk (twaldichuk@tru.ca) prior to submitting your abstract to the conference, which has a deadline of March 31.

Also, a friendly reminder to renew you CAG and Study Group memberships for 2019 if you have not already done so.

Thank you in advance for your consideration.  We look forward to seeing you at the University of Winnipeg.
