Adult Learners / Mature Students

Presentations: 5:30 p.m. to 6:45 p.m.
Room 2M70, 2nd Floor, Manitoba Hall

Presentations will include information on Prior Learning Assessment and Recognition, Career Services, Counseling, Library, UW Student Association, and Campus Life.  A UWinnipeg professor will share some practical tips and advice on what can help you to be a successful student. A current UWinnipeg student will also share their story about their journey as an Adult Learner.

Optional Sessions:

Campus Tour:
4:30 p.m. to 5:15 p.m.
Room 2M70 (2nd Floor, Manitoba Hall)

A Student Ambassador will meet you at 4:20 p.m. in Room 2M70 and take you for a 45 minute tour. Have the tour guide point out the locations of your classes and labs so you will be ready for when classes start.

Ready-Set-Go:
7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Hosted by The University of Winnipeg Library (4th floor, Centennial Hall), Ready, Set, Go is a program to help prepare university students for their first year of school.

The one-hour workshop will include:

• an introduction to the UW Library
• an explanation of campus computing, including passwords, policies, etc.
• assistance with connecting your laptop/smartphone to the wireless network
• instructions for printing/scanning on campus
• an introduction to Nexus
• candy
