UWINNIPEG SCHOLARSHIPS
Each year the University distributes 1.5 million dollars to new and returning students. Entrance scholarships range in value from $100 - $24,000 each. The University of Winnipeg guarantees scholarships to students with an entrance average of 80 per cent or higher. Nearly one-half of all entrants receive an award.
Unique among Canadian
universities, our goal is to create a $10 million endowment fund that
will ensure everyone, regardless of background and socio-economic
status, has access to higher education. The fund seeks specifically to
support Aboriginal students, young people from war-affected areas and
refugee populations, and students from inner-city neighbourhoods,
through fast-track bursaries, tuition credits and micro-financing for
young entrepreneurs.

UWinnipeg offers unique research opportunities to undergraduates—many participate directly in research, either on their own or in close collaboration with faculty, a privilege usually reserved for graduate students at larger institutions. Often these students are listed as co-authors on publications and conference presentations. Departments at UWinnipeg employ undergraduate students as markers, lab demonstrators, and tutors. Hired routinely to assist professors with research, students gain practical experience, broadening their learning experience immensely.
