IS students produce video

Thu. Oct. 15, 2015

The Sagey Saints, four students in this year's Summer Field School in Ethnobotany, produced a video, "Indigenous Medicinal Plants," documenting their experience. Follow along as the Sagey Saints and their fellow students, 10 in all, head to the Medicine Eagle Camp in the Keeseekoowenin First Nations near Riding Mountain National Park with their professor, Dr. Shailesh Shukla of the Department Indigenous Studies. There they have the opportunity to learn "hands on" about Ethnobotany from herbalists and Indigenous elders.

For more about the experience, you can also go to Naniece Ibrahim's feature "Science and tradition take root in class" on UWinnipeg's NewsCentre.
