Kinesiology and Applied Health
Kinesiology and Applied Health (KIN) at The University of Winnipeg is designed to develop an understanding of research and practice in physical activity, fitness, exercise, and sport. Our courses focus on the what, why, and how of human physical activity in three main areas of concentration, namely: Teaching, Kinesiology, and Coaching.
Our mission is to provide an environment where students can pursue their potential through our commitment to excellence in teaching, research, and community service.

EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING FUND RECIPIENTS ANNOUNCED
Congratulations to Associate Dean Glen
Bergeron (also on this project
Valerie Pelleck and Rob Pryce);
and Professor Nathan Hall who are
among the inaugural recipients of support from the new Experiential Learning
Fund. Both faculty members and a number of UWinnipeg students have been awarded
funding to support for-credit experiential learning opportunities (in alpha
order):

A significant amount of experiential learning is under way at
UWinnipeg, as evidenced by the large number of applications we received, said
Jodene Baccus, Chair of the Experiential Learning Fund selection committee. We
look forward to the successful outcomes of these projects and sharing the
results with the UWinnipeg community." The
Kinesiology Faculty will use the funds received by Bergeron, Pelleck and Pryce to upgrade the online practicum system to provide more opportunities for athletic therapy students. The funds received by Dr. Hall will be used in the Outdoor Recreation and Education Class (KIN 2104) to allow students to experience outdoor activities such as canoeing, kayaking, and camping.
