Education
The Faculty of Education is committed to preparing capable, caring educational leaders who are grounded in the ideals of service, scholarship, and equality. We are the only university in Winnipeg to offer an integrated program, where students can complete two degrees concurrently. Students can apply to the integrated program directly from high school, as mature learners, or as transfer students from other faculties or institutions. We also offer a two-year After-Degree program for students who hold a recognized undergraduate degree. Our Post-Baccalaureate Diploma in Education and joint Master's programs offer graduates and in-service teachers opportunities for continued personal and professional growth.
The Faculty of Education values diversity and inclusion. Our access programs provide mature and inner-city students with thriving and supportive learning environments. Graduates of these programs are uniquely qualified to meet the needs and concerns of their communities.
We offer several teacher education programs in conjunction with Red River College. These programs prepare students to become Industrial Arts/Technology teachers, Business Education teachers, or Aboriginal Language teachers. Students who have graduated with a Vocational Teacher Education Diploma from Red River College may take additional courses to complete a B.Ed. degree at the University.
Our international practicum programs allow students to become involved in the global community. Students may apply for practicum placements in China, Costa Rica, France, Germany, Greece, or Thailand.
