If you've visited our website before, you'll notice a few changes. Our new site has been designed with easier navigation, more comprehensive search features, and better access to the information you're searching for.
At the beginning of our re-design process we made the decision to develop a website that would be forward compatible and standards compliant. Improved accessibility was actually a key objective of the project. The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines became our foundation and the guiding principles for how the new site should be (re)constructed. This meant developing for Internet Explorer 5.5 and Netscape 6.0 and above.
The University of Winnipeg Website meets the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 1.0, Accessibility guidelines referred to in U.S. Section 508, and W3C XHTML 1.0 Transitional standards.
People with browsers below this minimum configuration have been experiencing some difficulties with the site. We would recommend upgrading to one of the many newer, standards compliant browsers listed below.
Sometimes, however, there are reasons you choose not to upgrade. With this in mind we are working on a solution for those people with older browsers.
