Mentor Program

Services for All Students

Are you new to The University of Winnipeg? Do you need some help making the transition to a new school or new city?

Sign up for the Student Mentor Program!

What is the Mentor Program?

The University of Winnipeg Student Mentor Program aims to build community on campus by supporting new, first time students to The University of Winnipeg.

We'll match you with an experienced student who can help you learn about University life. You will meet with your mentor in-person, and keep in touch by phone, text or email.

Who is it for?

The Student Mentor Program is open to any new student at The University of Winnipeg including International, Visiting & Exchange students, Newcomers, Rural Canadians, Adult Learners, and any other student who wants to meet new people, get some extra help, and learn new things about UWinnipeg and living in Winnipeg.

How do I register?

- You can register online or fill out the Mentee Application (PDF or Word).

- Send your completed application by email to or drop it off at International, Immigrant and Refugee Student Services at 475 Portage Avenue (1st floor, Rice Centre).

- You will be matched with a Mentor within 7 days of submitting your application. Your Mentor will contact you within 1-3 days after being matched.
