Immigration Live Webinars 

As a result of Covid-19, IIRCC recently made significant changes to your study permit conditions and to international travel. To better understand these changes, The University of Winnipeg Immigration Advisor will be hosting live webinars to discuss current changes and answer your questions.

On the date of the Webinar, a link will be emailed to all students.

Academic Advising Virtual Drop-ins

International, Immigrant and Refugee Student Services (IIRSS) is now offering virtual drop-in sessions every Tuesday and Thursday where students can speak with an Academic Advisor one-on-one. The Zoom waiting room will be enabled. One student will be admitted at a time.
When: Mondays and Wednesdays, 10:00 - 11:00 am

'Ask us Anything' Workshops

If you have questions that were not answered during our previous webinars, please join us during our 'Ask us Anything' workshops to find answers to your general questions. International, Immigrant and Refugee Student Services (IIRSS) will be hosting these workshops regularly throughout the term to assist you with questions related to the following topics:


-Student Permits/visas

-Travel to Canada/Support letters

-Academic requirements

-Mentor Program

-Tutor Program

-Health insurance

This event will be led by students questions only, and will not include a formal presentation.

Zoom details will be emailed to students prior to each event.

Pumpkin Carving

Looking for something to do this Halloween? Join us for an October tradition, pumpkin carving!

We have created an instructional video, available here:

IIRSS will be hosting a Zoom event on Friday, October 30th so we can share our carved pumpkins with each-other, remember to wear your Halloween costume! (Zoom details will be emailed closer to the event).



Chess Tournament

IIRSS Mentors will be hosting a chess tournament during the first week of November. If you are interested, please email with your student number. Interested students will be divided into groups, and will be notified by October 30th. This will be an online competition, please download the 'chess online +' app on your device. More information will be emailed.
