Upon arriving at the Emergency Department of HSC, you will be called up to register where you can ask to meet with a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) who has special training in medical examination, as well as the legal, forensic, and psychological needs of a person who has experienced sexual assault. You can also access SANE through calling the Klinic Sexual Assault Crisis Line, who will send a trained volunteer to meet you at the hospital and provide support throughout the process.

Klinic Sexual Assault Crisis Line provides immediate, confidential crisis intervention for emotional and practical assistance. If you elect to go to HSC, Klinic will offer to send a trained volunteer to support you through the process of reporting and meeting with SANE.

Nurse Practitioners are available to provide initial care to students who have experienced a form of  sexual misconduct. They can also help with referrals for evidence collection and can provide HIV and Sexually Transmitted Infection testing and prevention, free of charge.

Trained counsellors who can provide confidential counselling and wellness support to anyone involved, including secondary victims. Our counsellors are also able to help with referrals for long-term counselling services.

SMRT is a small team of senior front line staff members that oversees and coordinates services for individuals who have experienced sexual misconduct, been accused of sexual misconduct, or who are secondary victims. They’ll provide you with options for immediate support, student services available for further support and follow up, and information and referrals to other services, such as the reporting options and process.

Resource Centre for all men aged 16 years or older. Centre offers Group Therapy, Sexual Abuse Therapy, Short Term Individual Therapy, and an Emergency Shelter Program. Orientation and In-Takes happen on Mondays, where you can discuss what you’re looking for and the supports you need.

Centre for LGBT2SQ+ community to seek support through education, support groups, and individual short-term therapy. Counsellors will also help make referrals and connections to other supports as needed.

The Help Centre will provide you with legal information and referrals. They offer drop-in appointments on Tuesdays and Fridays from 1-4:30pm. They will answers your questions about the law and the legal process, help you find and access services, and other legal assistance as needed.
