RISE: Respect, Inclusion, Safety, Equity
RISE is a site for research on inclusive education in the area of Two-Spirit, lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, queer and questioning (2SLGBTQ+) youth. RISE aims to produce critical research on 2SLGBTQ+-expansive education and related issues. Driven by a strong emphasis on social justice and human rights, RISE aims to make such research accessible and to identify best practices for researchers, educators, and citizens alike for improving the lives of 2SLGBTQ+ youths and ending discrimination based on sexual and gender orientation.
Dr. Catherine Taylor is the lead researcher of the RISE research program. She and longtime research partner Dr. Tracey Peter have worked with national research teams to conduct several large-scale studies on 2SLGBTQ+-inclusive education, including:
