Biography:

Jessica Antony is a freelance writer, editor, and facilitator who has been working in the communications industry for fifteen years and teaching at the University of Winnipeg since 2009. Prior to starting her own freelance business, Jessica worked in book publishing for a decade, helping authors develop their manuscripts. Her academic education includes a Bachelor’s degree in Rhetoric and Communications (University of Winnipeg) and a Master’s degree in Media Studies (Concordia). She’s passionate about storytelling - both in her own writing and in helping others fine-tune their work. Her goal as an instructor is to help students develop their voice while engaging with other scholars’ work in crafting essays, arguments, and critiques. She hopes to demystify the process of academic writing and show students how much is to be gained by learning how to effectively develop an argument and both engage with and persuade readers.
