Canada Research Coordinating Committee consultation on proposed measures to strengthen science in Canada

Tue. Nov. 6, 2018

The Canada Research Coordinating Committee is pleased to present to you the summary report on proposed measures to strengthen science in Canada.

The consultation engaged Canadians, the research community and the next generation of scientists, scholars and students in a wide-ranging national discussion to help shape research in Canada.

This summary report synthesizes the feedback received from over 1,500 people through regional roundtables, stakeholder engagement activities and online. Participants included over 240 researchers and administrators from 47 universities and four colleges who took part in half-day discussions on campuses across Canada.

Ultimately, the insights gathered will help in shaping the new tri-agency fund; adopting new and innovative approaches to merit review; strengthening equity, diversity and inclusion; and supporting early career researchers.
