Northern Scientific Training Program (NSTP) Call for Applications

The Northern Scientific Training Program (NSTP) in partnership with Canadian universities, encourages the next generation of northern research specialists and scientists. NSTP is administered by Polar Knowledge Canada as part of its mandate to foster research in the Canadian North. The Program's aim is to promote interest in northern studies, and provide opportunities for advanced undergraduate and graduate students to obtain experience and professional training in the North.

Applications from students and supervisors for the Northern Scientific Training Program are due internally by Monday, November 26th at 4:00PM.  Applications need to be submitted via the NSTP portal and an electronic copy emailed to

Details about the program can be found at: A few items to note: these funds are meant to supplement the costs of research in the North and not to be the sole funding for research; the average grant size is $2500-$3000.
