Internal Call for Proposals - SSHRC Aid to Small Universities Special Research Grant

Tue. Nov. 14, 2017

In April 2014 the University of Winnipeg was granted a SSHRC Aid to Small Universities (ASU) grant entitled “Engaging Marginalized Children and Youth”.  This particular grant is nearing the end of its cycle with a public launch of the research scheduled for Wednesday, December 6th from 12:30-2:00 in 2M70.

After a review of both the SSHRC ASU and SSHRC Institutional Grant (SIG) programs, SSHRC has recently decided to amalgamate the two programs starting in Spring 2018.  Due to the uncertainty of the programs and timelines, SSHRC has provided the University of Winnipeg with additional Aid to Small Universities funding to be spent by March 31, 2018.

Today, the Research and Innovation Office is issuing a one-time call for proposals staying aligned with the original 2014 ASU grant.  This call is for actively engaged research projects, or, in the case of knowledge mobilization activities, nearing/at the end of their research project, with a focus on engagement with marginalized communities and/or persons.  Applications are due Friday, December 15th and results will be available by January 15th (or sooner).  Funds granted via this call *must* be spent by March 31, 2018.

Information on the grant - along with the application form - is available on the Research and Innovation Office website at:
