Research Manitoba: Health Research Program Grants Upcoming Deadline

New Investigator Operating Grants (PROJECT GRANTS)

Investigators must be within the first FIVE YEARS of their initial faculty appointment at the Assistant Professor (or equivalent) level in North America, as of the application deadline.

NOTE: SPECIAL ELIGIBILITY FOR CLINICIAN SCIENTISTS IS IN PLACE WHEREBY the start of an independent research career is defined as the date at which s/he received funding for a research project in which s/he was a principal investigator on a funded peer-review grant.

 

Grants will be capped at $75,000/year for a maximum of THREE years. The amount of funds that may be used for equipment is limited to $10,000 (for small equipment), over the three years of the grant.

Mid-Career Investigator Operating Grants (PROJECT GRANTS)

Investigators must be within 10 years post Associate Professor appointment in North America, as of the application deadline. Applicants must have held national funding as the PI previously.  Applicants who hold operating funds of $50,000 or more as Primary Investigator (PI) at the time of application to Research Manitoba WILL NOT BE ELIGIBLE FOR FUNDING.

The $50,000 cut-off applies to:

(a) money that the applicant has available to them at the time of the submission deadline (March 3, 2016), and

(b) money that the applicant knows is committed to them for the upcoming fiscal year (April 1-March 31, 2017).

 

Grants will be capped at $75,000/year for a maximum of TWO years.  The amount of funds that may be used for equipment is limited to $10,000 (for small equipment), over the two years of the grant.
