UWIN Mission

At the University of Winnipeg, intramural sports will enhance the university experience for all students, faculty, and staff by organizing fun and safe recreational activities. Intramurals will provide participants with the opportunity to develop skills that will help them reach their academic goals, such as team-work, leadership, respect and professionalism.

UWIN Objectives

  • Provide students, faculty, and staff with the opportunity to participate in a wide variety of recreational activities.
  • Provide a safe, respectful, and welcoming environment where students, faculty, and staff can have fun, socialize, and meet new people.
  • Promote sportsmanship, teamwork, and a healthy lifestyle.

Fun, Respectful, and Inclusive Sport

UWIN is committed to facilitating inclusive activities where all students have equal opportunity to play. Participants are expected to uphold this commitment by respecting their teammates and opponents, regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, mental or physical ability, and socio-economic status.

While participants are encouraged to play to the best of their abilities, the true value of intramurals comes from the camaraderie experienced during recreational activity. UWIN requires that participants:

  • Respect all intramural and facility staff, volunteers, and participants.
  • Respect the facility and share space and equipment willingly.
  • Contribute to the betterment of the intramural experience.
