PBDE in Inquiry

The University of Winnipeg Faculty of Education and the Seven Oaks School Division have created a PBDE programme focused on Inquiry. Often used as an umbrella term, Inquiry in this context relates to the need in K-12 education to design opportunities for our learners to pose critical questions about the human experience, particularly when held up against climate change, the changing world of work, and the persistence of colonial forces. The focus of the PBDE will also be to consider what we mean by deeper learning and deeper teaching.

The purpose of the PBDE in Inquiry is to bring Seven Oaks School Division educators together to interrogate our practice, begin to design with intention, and contemplate what we truly mean by learner engagement. As much as this experience is about learner inquiry, it is an opportunity for educators to dive deep into their own professional inquiry within a community of learners.

Students must complete 30 credit hours of course work to earn their PBDE, 18 credit hours of which must consist of the Educational Inquiry courses.

Students applying for the PBDE in Inquiry are required to first inform their school division contacts. Students applying for the PBDE in Inquiry from 7 Oaks School Division, please register at the link below. After you have let your contacts know you can proceed to apply online for the PBDE General stream.
