Erika Vas

Master’s in Development Practice (MDP) in Indigenous Development


Erika Vas Erika Vas was born and raised in Lethbridge, Alberta (traditional territories of the Blackfoot and the people of the Treaty 7 region in Southern Alberta). She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Lethbridge. She has been an active community member and has volunteered with various organizations, including Amnesty International. These activities increased her awareness of human rights and Indigenous issues locally and globally.

Erika has a strong liberal arts education and has focused her studies on brain and behaviour, social psychology, transgenerational development, and human neuropsychology. She was a research assistant at the Canadian Centre for Behavioural Neuroscience.

She has collaborated with the Blackfoot community, the Mayan community of Quintana Roo, Mexico, the Lethbridge community, as well as several Indigenous and non-Indigenous community organizations and departments at the University of Lethbridge. She has enjoyed working in diverse environments with individuals from all over the world.

Erika is eager to grow personally and professionally within the MDP program.
